At 30 I switched fields to complete an MSc in Information & Electrical Engineering, bringing deep learning back to the factory floor. I now work in FCFC's Digital & Energy Transition Group on SiC pilot-line build-out and quality-control automation.

SiC wafer defect detection
Built an annotated TSD/TED/BPD dataset and compared YOLO v8/v10/v11/v12 — v12 performed best.
Pilot fab build-out
An SiC high-temperature materials trial line built from scratch, spanning technical evaluation, environmental compliance, procurement and staffing.
Thermal simulation
COMSOL multiphysics simulation supporting high-temperature process evaluation and thermal optimisation.
Edge AI deployment
NVIDIA Jetson hands-on, so inference completes on the line instead of depending on a cloud link.
Yield and quality management
Formulation improvement, inspection-standard authoring, US green-building certification support; nine years of cost and performance management.
Export and international work
Nine years of export new-business development, complaint handling and trade-fair planning. TOEIC 825.

- Supported the build-out of the SiC (silicon carbide) pilot fab — technical evaluation, cross-functional coordination and manufacturing engineering execution
- Introduced machine learning (YOLO) for quality inspection, supported by COMSOL multiphysics thermal-field simulation
